The Rundown: Sam and Duncan learn more about the nightmares and make a new plan to save their daughter.

In the wake of their last battle, Duncan and Sam take the time to bury the bodies of the fallen dreams and learn more about the nightmares who have decided to help them free Penny from her own mind. In the real world, the man they thought was their ally makes their bodies comfortable as he and Pigface plot how to end them and bring back his daughter.

When the parents lure the enemy forces into a trap, another battle ensues and Sam takes the opportunity to end one of the threats in an unexpected way. As the battle turns in their favor, Duncan is confronted with a dark moment from his past that could put their mission at risk.

The Story: Johnson continues to create a thrilling, compelling and entertaining story in this issue. I continue to love this premise and the dynamic between the characters. Sam and Duncan evolve in fantastic ways both in how they are dealing with their current circumstances and with their own relationship. I like the determination these characters have and how they are taking different tactics with their fight. The story has a great twist towards the end that adds some additional drama to the story and reinforces a truth about what children see and hear from their own parents.

The Art: Johnson and Rossmo craft some beautiful art throughout the issue. The visuals are fun, interesting and beautifully engaging.
